We recently went on holidays to Melbourne so that Abi could meet some of my Aunts and Uncles (on my Dad's side) and my Grandma. Being younger than my Dad and having children that aren't even close to finishing school yet all my Uncles and Aunts found the concept of being "great-uncles" and "great-aunts" a bit strange :-D. However, it was very good to catch up with them and they seem to enjoy meeting Abi.
This is my Grandma, Abi and me. Abi is her first great-grandchild.
Here are a few highlights from our Christmas.
Spoons turned out to be a great present. She can even manage to get the correct end in her mouth (well, sometimes).
Abi is not quite old enough for this present from Aunty Kim, but Mum, Grandpa and Aunty Katie had fun. (So did Tim, but he declined to be photographed with it.)
Abi received yet another giraffe from her grandma (which she loves).
Abi finally got another cuddle with Uncle Tim.
Overall we had a good day. Our first attempt at cooking a turkey was successful. Abi enjoyed her new toys (although she didn't get through all her presents until boxing day), especially the spoons and "my first soccer ball". I especially liked the "baby Tux" t-shirt Aunty Katie gave her (we'll have to get a picture of that one sometime soon, for those who don't know - Tux the penguin is the Linux mascot).
