And She is off!

Well, as the post title refers, our beautiful daughter Abigail has finally started walking for herself!

For the last month she has been very independent with the ability to walk about via her trolley (as seen in one of the previous blog pictures). Then one day she decided to start standing by herself and at the end she would request "clapping" from Mum and Dad.

Once she had the confidence to stand by herself she had a day of what I call "the sillies". She would do her standing routine and then instead of asking for a clap, she would fall over and promptly laugh! A couple of hours later, for no apparent reason she decided to stand by herself without the use of an aid. Again, no requests for "clapping" - all serious stuff lol

Finally that afternoon, we tried a little idea of getting her to stumble between Mum and Dad from a short distance. This worked and from there on it is history. That night we asked her to walk to her change table and she didn't even blink one of her beautiful eyelids. It was a touching moment.

Now, I know everyone is whispering "you are going to regret her walking" but in my opinion - WHO CARES! We now have a new way wear her out :-)
